JAIPUR- MOBILE TOWER RADIATION : PEOPLE UNITE AGAINST MOBILE TOWER

Residents of Mehra Colony at Karbala Turn in Jaipur had a sit-in on the roads for almost eight hours. They were protesting against the construction of a new mobile tower in the area. Residents were of the opinion that there were already too many mobile towers in the neighborhood and what was the need of constructing another one. Citizens strongly protested on the streets for almost eight hours, blocking the roads and hampering the traffic. Finally in view of opposition from people the mobile company had to remove their equipment.

A fortnight ago the members of resident committee of the area had filed a complaint against the new tower with Jaipur Municipal Corporation at the Amer zone office yet the equipment arrived to construct the tower upon which the residents united and protested with a sit-in.
